Cabinets are constructed in powder-coated, corrosion-resistant aluminium with UV-stabilised polycarbonate or acrylic face panels for uniform light diffusion. The structures must meet frangibility requirements per ICAO standards, meaning that on impact by an aircraft or ground vehicle, the sign cabinet fractures predictably without causing airframe damage.
