The M/EAA is EINSA's self-propelled aircraft ground power unit — a purpose-built autonomous vehicle (not a generator mounted on a general-purpose truck chassis) providing three-phase AC at 400 Hz / 115–200 V in 100, 120, or 140 kVA output configurations. Being self-propelled, the unit drives independently to the aircraft stand under its own power, without needing a separate tug — reducing the number of vehicle movements per turn and simplifying scheduling in ground-handler dispatch systems. A rear tow hook additionally allows the EAA to double as a light tow tractor for GSE repositioning, compressing the unit count required for routine stand operations. The three output ratings cover different aircraft size classes and operator requirements within a single product family. The 100 kVA variant handles the power demands of narrow-body jets (A320, B737) for standard turnaround functions. The 120 and 140 kVA variants serve wide-body aircraft and situations where multiple heavy consumers (galleys, avionics cooling, cabin air) are simultaneously on external power — common during extended maintenance turns or overnight stands. Optional DC kit output reaches 2,500 A peak across 12 V, 24 V, and 28.5 V, enabling APU-start support within the same vehicle. The unit's purpose-built architecture — rather than an adapted truck — optimises weight distribution and component access for ramp rather than road use, and produces a compact, highly manoeuvrable footprint suited to tight apron gate configurations. A spacious 2–3 person operator cabin is available in open or enclosed versions. The unit complies with EN-12312-20, the European standard for aircraft GPU safety.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Self-propelled stand power for narrow-body (100 kVA) and wide-body (120/140 kVA) turnarounds
  • Overnight maintenance stands where sustained high-load external power replaces APU operation
  • Combined AC + DC supply during APU-start and avionics ground-check cycles
  • Ground-handler fleets reducing vehicle count per turn by using the EAA for both GPU and light-tow functions
  • Military and mixed-use airports requiring a single GPU platform to serve both commercial and military aircraft categories
