The EAR is EINSA's towable diesel ground power unit, delivering three-phase AC power at 400 Hz / 115–200 V to any aircraft whose onboard electrical system operates on that standard — the universal ground-power interface covering virtually all commercial jets and most military platforms. Output scales from smaller configurations up to 140 kVA, with an optional DC kit adding 12 V, 24 V, or 28.5 V outputs at up to 2,500 A peak to cover APU start and avionics ground checks simultaneously. The core alternator is a single-bearing, self-ventilating, brushless design with independent excitation, a configuration that eliminates the second bearing as a wear point and pushes minimum bearing-service intervals to 30,000 hours — a meaningful total-cost-of-ownership argument in high-cycle ramp environments. Power electronics are managed by PLC for stable frequency and voltage regulation across load swings. A noise-dampening kit brings acoustic output to 71 dB(A) at 7 m, keeping the unit compliant with the tightening noise budgets common at constrained urban airports. As a tow unit, the EAR is pulled to the aircraft stand via any compatible tug and positioned independently of the ramp vehicle fleet — practical for operators managing mixed-width stands or remote pads with irregular GPU call-up patterns. The unit complies with EN-12312-20 and is suitable for both civil hub operations and forward operating airbase deployments where the same unit may serve military transport as well as commercial traffic. In the GCC context, its tolerance for hot ambient conditions via liquid-cooled engine architecture and its dual civil/military capability align well with the region's mixed-use military-adjacent airports.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Stand-power for narrow-body and wide-body jets during turnaround at gates without fixed pit-power
  • Airbase forward operations requiring a single towable GPU for mixed commercial/military traffic
  • Remote pads and apron areas where self-propelled units are over-specified
  • Simultaneous AC + DC supply for aircraft requiring APU-start current alongside avionics power
  • Temporary GPU capacity relief during peak turns or infrastructure refurbishment
