EA-HPU Hydraulic Power Unit
High-pressure hydraulic test unit delivering up to 5,000 PSI at 28 GPM for aircraft flight control, landing gear, and hydraulic system maintenance.
The EA-HPU is a ground-based hydraulic power unit designed for the full range of aircraft hydraulic maintenance tasks: actuating and testing flight control surfaces, cycling landing gear retraction and extension, flushing hydraulic system circuits, and supporting component test bench work. It delivers regulated pressure adjustable from 250 PSI up to 5,000 PSI (340 bar) at a system maximum flow of 28 GPM (50 Hz), driven by a 75 HP (56 kW) Lincoln industrial motor on a 380 VAC three-phase 50 Hz supply. The 100% duty cycle rating is operationally critical — hydraulic system flushing, leak testing, and repeated actuator cycles in an A-check or C-check context can run for hours, and a unit that must be de-rated or cycled off for thermal recovery adds schedule time and maintenance complexity. Aviation-grade super-clean filtration (3-micron absolute pressure filter, 6-micron absolute return filter, NAS 1638 compliant) protects aircraft hydraulic components from contamination introduced by the test unit — a non-negotiable requirement since hydraulic contamination is a leading cause of servo-valve and actuator failure. The all-aluminium welded frame and pan eliminate the corrosion and paint-chip FOD risk of steel construction. Instrumentation includes a 4%-accuracy high-pressure flow meter, a 1%-accuracy test-quality pressure gauge, and a temperature pyrometer. Stainless-steel 70-gallon reservoir, Skydrol-compatible fluid path, and 50-foot supply and return hoses are standard. Forklift brackets and heavy-duty castors with floor lock allow repositioning within a hangar bay without specialist lifting equipment.
