EAC Series — 400 Hz Solid-State Frequency Converter

The EAC series is ElectroAir's core stationary frequency converter — the foundational product in a range that spans from small laboratory units (EAC-0.8 at 0.8 kVA) to full gate-rated installations (EAC-90 at 90 kVA). The converter accepts standard 50 Hz utility AC and produces stable 400 Hz, 115/200 V three-phase output to the specification required by all commercial and military aircraft ground power receptacles. Solid-state conversion (IGBT-based) replaces the rotary motor-generator sets that predated it, with the key benefits being higher efficiency, lower maintenance, elimination of rotating components that require periodic mechanical overhaul, and the ability to produce a highly controlled sinusoidal output with THD consistently below 3% and frequency stability of 400 ±0.01 Hz. The EAC series underpins several of ElectroAir's other product categories — the same converter technology appears in the EAC-PBB under-bridge unit, the EACR combined AC/DC unit, and the laboratory EAC small-format units. In a fixed gate or hangar installation, the EAC is connected to the apron distribution network via a pit system or distribution pillar, providing aircraft power without any mobile equipment on the apron. For procurement of new contact stand infrastructure, the EAC is the AC engine inside the complete solution; buyers typically specify it as part of a full stand package rather than in isolation.
