Distribution pillars are the stationary interface between an airport's high-voltage or utility power infrastructure and the individual service points on the apron or in the hangar — the electrical equivalent of a multi-outlet panel, engineered for outdoor aviation environments. ElectroAir's EAD-S pillars supply both 220/380 V 50 Hz standard utility AC and 115/200 V 400 Hz aircraft AC from the same cabinet, allowing a single installed unit to serve both GSE electrical loads (tools, lighting, ground heating elements) and direct aircraft ground power connections. Each output channel is protected by a high-speed motor-drive switch, with illuminated voltage-presence and operation indicators on the panel for operator visibility. A built-in remote control system and certified energy meters for both 50 Hz and 400 Hz channels enable energy consumption monitoring — a feature increasingly required under airport sustainability and cost-allocation reporting frameworks. The pillars are appropriate for contact stands equipped with fixed 400 Hz GPUs or cabled from the terminal building, for MRO hangar distribution networks, and for workshop environments where both utility and aircraft-grade power must be available at a single service point. They are complementary to ElectroAir's pit systems and under-bridge unit sets as part of a fully designed apron power distribution scheme.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Contact stand power distribution for airports with fixed 400 Hz and utility AC demand at each gate
  • MRO hangar power distribution providing both aircraft and utility power at hangar bays
  • Workshop environments requiring simultaneous 50 Hz tool power and 400 Hz aircraft test power
  • Airport energy monitoring programmes requiring metered apron power data per stand
  • Integration into apron power distribution schemes alongside pit systems and under-bridge units
