The Guinault GA180 is the top-capacity unit in the GA diesel range, delivering 180 kVA of 400 Hz ground power with an optional simultaneous 28 VDC output rated at 800 A continuous / 2,500 A peak. At this output class the GA180 covers wide-body aircraft that require higher electrical loads during ground servicing — including cabin IFE power-up, full galley loading, avionics testing, and systems integration checks — without needing to run the aircraft's APU or bleed-air systems. Target platforms span twin-aisle types such as the A330, B767, B777, and equivalent freighter variants where ground power demand during a full turnaround cycle can be significantly higher than narrow-body requirements. The GA180 shares the same core architecture as the GA90 and GA140: Guinault's in-house brushless 28-pole alternator running at 1,714 RPM for low harmonic content, combined with a choice of emission-compliant Deutz, Cummins, or John Deere engines covering Stage 3A through Stage 5 / Tier 4F. The physical envelope (3,550 × 2,000 × 1,700 mm at 2,500 kg) remains manoeuvrable for a unit of this class, and availability in both towable trailer and self-propelled chassis configurations suits airports with varying tractor fleet compositions. The same −30 °C to +50 °C operating range, corrosion-resistant polyester canopy, and integrated WiFi / GSM / GPS telematics apply across the range. For cargo hubs, charter operators, and full-service carriers running wide-body rotations out of GCC airports, the GA180 is a practical APU-replacement tool that addresses both regulatory pressure on emissions and the direct fuel and maintenance cost of APU run-time.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Wide-body aircraft ground power at hub airports (A330, B767, B777)
  • Cargo freighter servicing with high sustained electrical load requirements
  • APU-OFF programmes for twin-aisle rotations at GCC long-haul hubs
  • Full-service airline turnaround support including IFE, galley, and avionics power
  • Mixed-fleet operations where one GPU must cover both narrow- and wide-body stands
