Honeywell LED PAPI (FAA L-880)
LED Precision Approach Path Indicator — 4-box array.
Honeywell's LED PAPI is a 4-box (two per side) FAA L-880 system providing the pilot a two-colour visual glide-path reference. LED emitters replace halogen PAR-56 lamps, giving a precise chromatic transition at the 3° glide-path boundary without hysteresis. Required for CAT-I runway operations and widely deployed on GCC runway refits. Tilt mechanism survives seasonal heat stress and is field-adjustable without re-flight-inspection.
