The Jetway Regional Aircraft Boarding Bridge is a purpose-engineered variant of the Jetway platform adapted to the geometric constraints of regional jets and turboprop aircraft — aircraft types that sit significantly lower to the ground and have smaller fuselage profiles than mainline single-aisle jets.

Three design adaptations define this bridge over the standard Jetway range. First, a shortened rotunda structure allows the bridge to originate from both first- and second-floor terminal lounge levels — critical at regional concourses built to serve mixed fleets from the same pier level. Second, a modified wheel bogie geometry allows the drive column to reach the reduced ground clearance of regional aircraft door sills without the bridge sitting at an impractical slope. Third, the cab floor is independently actuated and individually adjustable, levelling automatically across bridge slopes ranging from -10 % to +10 % to form a flat surface flush with the aircraft doorsill regardless of stand geometry — eliminating the tripping hazard that otherwise forces airports to use boarding stairs on regional gates.

Ultra-modern proximity sensors streamline the docking cycle and reduce the time the bridge occupies the stand. Advanced canopy enclosures provide a weather seal at the fuselage connection point, protecting passengers from jet blast, rain, and extreme heat — a feature directly relevant to Gulf regional routes where Embraer E-jets and ATR turboprops operate at secondary airports without full jetway infrastructure.

This bridge is the right specification for regional concourses, satellite terminals, and airports adding jetway capability to previously apron-served stands to improve passenger experience on feeder routes.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Regional concourses and satellite terminals serving Embraer E-series, Bombardier CRJ/Q-series, ATR 42/72, and similar aircraft
  • Airports upgrading apron-served regional stands to covered jetway boarding for passenger comfort
  • Mixed-fleet piers where regional jets operate alongside mainline narrowbodies from shared gate infrastructure
  • Gulf regional airports and secondary terminals where extreme heat makes open-apron boarding uncomfortable
  • New-build regional terminals designed to IATA Level of Service standards requiring enclosed boarding
