The Atlas/KSSU meal tray is the standard rotable surface on which inflight meals are assembled, transported from the catering truck to the passenger, and returned through the wash cycle. Kuipers Inflight offers these trays in both Atlas and KSSU standards across the three industry-standard size fractions: full size (1/1), two-thirds (2/3), and half size (1/2), in multiple colour options including grey and black to suit different cabin liveries. Trays are manufactured from ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), a food-safe thermoplastic that is heat-resistant, dimensionally stable, and robust enough to withstand commercial dishwashing and handling across hundreds of cycles. The surface is designed with a low-profile anti-slip texture to retain casseroles, cups, and glassware during service. For the standard Atlas 1/1 tray, the working surface is approximately 380 × 275 mm at 15 mm depth — sized to accept the standard Atlas meal setup (casserole, side dish, cup, and cutlery pack) within the footprint of a retracted economy seat table. Atlas trays are compatible with the Atlas trolley standard used by roughly 80% of commercial airlines; KSSU trays are dimensioned for the 42.5 cm depth standard associated with KLM, former Swissair, and SAS-lineage aircraft. The two are not interchangeable within a service trolley run, so mixed-fleet operators must stock both or standardise fleet tray assignments by aircraft type.
