The Atlas oven rack (also called an oven insert) is the structural aluminium frame that holds meal trays inside an aircraft galley convection oven during the inflight heating cycle. Kuipers Inflight supplies two Atlas configurations: the standard 32-meal rack and the extended 48-meal rack, both manufactured from aluminium and stocked from the Netherlands for short lead-time delivery. KSSU-standard oven racks are also available. Each insert is sized to fit precisely within the Atlas galley oven footprint. The standard 32-meal version weighs 2.0 kg and accepts 8 aluminium oven skids (each 370 × 213 × 15.5 mm), each carrying 4 meal portions — giving a total of 32 heated portions per oven cycle. The extended 48-meal version weighs 2.5 kg, uses longer skids at 495 × 213 × 15.5 mm, and accommodates 48 portions per cycle. A recessed aluminium carry handle on the top allows galley crew to transfer a fully loaded insert in and out of the oven safely; rear panel cutouts accommodate the oven fan and temperature sensor without obstruction. The distinction between 32 and 48-meal capacity is driven by aircraft type and route density: narrowbody operations (A320, B737) typically deploy 32-meal inserts matched to single-aisle cabin counts, while widebody operations (A330, A350, B777, B787) running full economy configurations may benefit from the 48-meal extended insert to reduce cycle count and galley workload. Oven skids can be ordered with or without the racks, which is useful for replenishing worn or damaged skids without replacing the full insert assembly. Custom logo engraving or anodised finishing is available for airline-branded galley equipment programmes.
