The MAK GPCU Combo consolidates two conventionally separate pieces of ramp equipment — a pre-conditioned air unit and a DC ground power unit — into one self-contained mobile platform. The standard configuration delivers 15 TR of aircraft cabin cooling alongside 28.5V DC electrical power, sized for regional passenger aircraft and ICAO Code C aircraft types such as B737 and A320 family variants. The operational advantage is straightforward: at constrained regional airports, outstations or low-volume gates where parking two GSE units per aircraft is impractical, a single combo unit completes the full ground-support power and cooling function in one tow. This reduces GSE fleet size, cuts fuel consumption, and simplifies marshalling on narrow ramp aprons where vehicle manoeuvring space is limited. The unit is diesel or electrically driven, compliant with the latest EPA/Euro emission norms. The touchscreen MAK GSEM V8-C panel controls both the cooling and power functions from a single operator interface, and the RDMS telematics platform transmits live operational data — temperatures, power output, fault logs, maintenance schedules — to remote devices. The design meets MIL, AHM and ARP standards and carries more than 100,000 hours of incident-free operational record across commercial airlines and defence organisations. An optional 28.5V DC module and small 50Hz inverter can supply commercial-voltage power for maintenance tooling and appliances in parallel with the aircraft power function, extending utility during long maintenance turns. For GCC operators with mixed narrow-body fleets and tight ramp-space allocations at secondary airports, the GPCU Combo offers a compact, capable alternative to a full two-unit GSE deployment.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Regional and outstation airports requiring combined cooling and DC power from one unit
  • Code C narrow-body turnaround at constrained gates with limited ramp-vehicle parking
  • Low-volume routes where deploying two separate GSE units per aircraft is uneconomical
  • Military and expeditionary operations needing compact, multi-function ground support
  • Airlines pursuing GSE fleet rationalisation and fuel reduction on short-haul networks
  • Secondary GCC airports supporting narrow-body regional traffic with lean ground crews
