SPACER 8600 PB
Fully electric, towbarless pushback tug rated to 105 tonnes for narrowbody aircraft at commercial gates.
The Mototok SPACER 8600 PB (NG generation) is a compact, radio-remote-controlled, fully electric pushback tractor engineered for single-aisle commercial aircraft at busy ramp positions. It replaces both the conventional towbar-tractor combination and the wing-walker requirement: a single operator with a handheld remote unit performs the entire pushback sequence — nosegear engagement, push, pivot and release — from outside the aircraft's jet blast zone with 360-degree visibility.
The tug is certified compatible with the Airbus A320 Family including the A321neo, Boeing 737 and 737 MAX, Embraer E-Jets, and Bombardier/MHI CRJ series, covering the vast majority of narrowbody movements at regional and major hubs alike. Its onboard Intel Atom processor logs towing forces, braking events and unit health in real time, and the onboard charger with auto-retracting CEE cable means the unit charges wherever an industrial socket is available — no fixed infrastructure needed.
Within the narrowbody pushback category the NG distinguishes itself through 96 V battery architecture (up to 400 Ah TSD configuration), next-generation permanent magnet synchronous motors exceeding 96% efficiency, and PL-e / SIL-3-rated radio control with integrated 2.8-inch TFT display. Unladen weight of 5.1 tonnes keeps the ramp footprint small and allows the tug to park in the immediate gate area between cycles. Operators report up to 30 pushback operations per single charge cycle.
For GCC ramp operations — where high ambient temperatures, intensive turn-arounds and single-type fleets (predominantly A320 and 737 families at DXB, DOH, AUH and RUH) create predictable, high-frequency pushback demand — the all-electric drive eliminates fuel logistics and the zero-emission profile aligns with regional airport sustainability mandates.

Use cases.
- ›Narrowbody pushback at commercial terminal gates (A320 family, B737/MAX, E-Jets, CRJ)
- ›Single-operator ramp operations without wing-walker requirement
- ›High-frequency turnaround environments requiring multiple daily charge-discharge cycles
- ›Airports pursuing emission-reduction or zero-diesel ramp targets
- ›Gate areas with limited apron space where conventional tug + towbar would obstruct adjacent stands
- ›Fleet operators requiring IoT health-monitoring and remote diagnostics integration
