The Ranger 15E is Oshkosh AeroTech's all-electric cargo loader designed around a specific modern-airport problem: distance. As airfields sprawl and remote stands multiply, loaders spend more of their duty cycle driving than lifting. Oshkosh AeroTech (the former JBT AeroTech, acquired by Oshkosh Corporation in 2023) pitches the Ranger as 'the first loader designed for distance driving' — with a high-speed package giving a 15 mph (24 kph) top speed, a single Ranger can cover work that would otherwise take multiple traditional loaders.
Core numbers: 15,500 lb (7,000 kg) lift capacity and a 48 kWh lithium-ion battery for long operating time and range, with maintenance-free battery options and zero emissions during operation. A leaf-spring front axle — with optional suspension on the bogey wheels — protects the machine and its cargo from rough-ramp impacts at higher transit speeds, and the small footprint and tight turning radius keep it agile around congested stands.
Build quality leans on the same component philosophy as the rest of the Oshkosh AeroTech loader range: IFM controls, Danfoss hydraulics, a structure optimised with dynamic-load simulation, and PLC-controlled diagnostics with an intuitive LCD display for fast troubleshooting. Optional solid rubber drive tyres and bogey wheels eliminate flats entirely. Operators familiar with Commander loaders will find the controls layout immediately familiar, and options include Aircraft Proximity Detection sensors and JetDock self-docking on some models.
