RSC 250 Compact Runway Sweeper

The RSC 250 Performance Line occupies a distinct niche in the Øveraasen runway-sweeper lineup: a compact machine that matches the blower performance of full-size sweepers while fitting within the narrower operating envelopes of regional airports, narrow taxiways, and congested apron areas. Built on a Mercedes-Benz Arocs 2036 chassis (265 kW / 360 HP), it combines purpose-engineered sweep and blow modules with a commercially familiar drivetrain that simplifies parts sourcing and maintenance scheduling for airport workshops. The MTU 6R1000 dedicated blower engine (260 kW / 350 HP, EU Stage V / Tier 4f) drives a 40,000 m³/h air flow at 150 m/s — the same blowing velocity as the larger RS 400 and RS 200 machines, meaning ejection force is not compromised by the reduced footprint. The brush (920 mm diameter, 0–900 rpm, automatic adjustment) sweeps a 4,000 mm width at 32°, giving a clearing capacity of 260,000 m²/h at the rated working speed of 65 km/h. An optional integrated Dammann chemical sprayer (3,500-litre tank) makes the RSC 250 a combined sweep-and-de-ice asset in a single unit. For GCC operators, the compact dimensions (9,800 mm long, 2,600 mm transport width) make the RSC 250 particularly suited to general aviation aprons, smaller regional airports, and as a supplementary fast-response unit at busy international airports. Autonomous operation is available as an option. The machine is also well matched to airports transitioning to a mixed-fleet model where a smaller, agile sweeper handles approach ends and holding areas while a larger unit works the main strip.
