PAXWAY Steel Wall Type Model
The core PAXWAY platform — a thermally insulated, steel-walled boarding bridge built for operational reliability across all climate conditions.
The PAXWAY Steel Wall Type Model is the standard platform in the PAXWAY range, and the baseline against which the other variants are differentiated. Its tunnel walls are constructed from steel panel with optional insulating material fitted into ceiling and wall cavities. This insulation layer suppresses heat exchange between the tunnel interior and the external environment, enabling the climate control system to maintain comfortable cabin temperatures even under extreme ambient conditions — including the sustained summer heat of the Gulf region, where ramp-side air temperatures routinely exceed 45°C.
The model is available in three sub-variants that can be specified at the time of order: the standard insulated version, a windowed version (steel wall with glazed openings for natural light and outward visibility), and an external panel version (flat side walls configured to carry printed advertising or branding panels — a revenue-generating feature for airport operators running commercial concession programmes).
For procurement engineers, the Steel Wall Type is the workhorse of the range. It has the longest installed-base history in the PAXWAY fleet, and its construction is optimised for maintainability and longevity in challenging environments. The insulated variant is particularly well-matched to Gulf airports, where the delta between terminal air-conditioning and outside temperature creates significant thermal load on the tunnel structure. It carries the full suite of PAXWAY features: Preset Drive, anti-collision system, adjustable cab floor, LCD touch panel with 7,000-message history log, and compatibility with the optional AI Docking System.

Use cases.
- ›High-traffic domestic and international gates requiring reliable, low-maintenance bridge infrastructure
- ›Gulf-region airports where extreme ambient heat demands thermally insulated tunnel construction
- ›Airports running commercial advertising programmes on bridge exterior panels
- ›Replacement bridges at existing terminal piers where the operational case favours proven steel construction
- ›Multi-gate terminal tenders where a single proven platform needs to serve varied aircraft types
