HI-SCAN 100100T-2is

The HI-SCAN 100100T-2is is a dual-view, dual-energy X-ray inspection system designed for the screening of oversized freight units — palletised air cargo, large parcels, and consolidated shipments that exceed the capacity of standard 600 mm or 1,000 mm tunnel systems. The 1,000 mm × 1,000 mm tunnel accommodates full-height freight items without unpacking, and the dual-view architecture provides perpendicular X-ray images in a single pass, eliminating the blind spots inherent in single-source systems and removing the need to manually rotate heavy items.

The system is positioned within the HI-SCAN freight line at the large-object end: below the twin-tunnel 180180 series used for ULD containers, but above the 10080 range used for outsize hold baggage and standard freight. Air cargo facilities handling general freight, express parcels, and consolidated shipments use this class of scanner at inbound and outbound cargo acceptance points.

Dual-energy detection provides material discrimination — allowing the algorithm to distinguish organic threats from benign packaging — while the two-view geometry reduces operator re-screening requests on dense loads. The system integrates with Smiths Detection's networking and management software for multi-lane cargo screening operations.

For GCC cargo hubs handling high volumes of imported and transshipment freight, the large tunnel format avoids the costly and time-consuming manual breakbulk that standard tunnel systems impose on palletised or skidded shipments.
