The TUG 660 is Textron's primary self-propelled belt loader, designed for baggage and cargo loading across the full spectrum of commercial aircraft — from regional turboprops to widebody jets. Its 24 in (610 mm) conveyor belt handles standard baggage configurations, while the 2,000 lb (907 kg) conveyor capacity at full incline supports bulk cargo movements without the pacing limitations of lighter-rated loaders.
The conveyor boom adjusts front height between 40 and 170 in (1,016 and 4,318 mm), making it compatible with everything from small regional aircraft at low sill heights to the main-deck cargo doors of B747 freighters at the upper end. Rear height adjusts between 13 and 37 in (330 and 940 mm), controlling the loading angle and reducing bag damage from excessive drop. Belt speed is variable between 45 and 90 fpm (13.7 and 27.4 m/min), allowing matching to different load types and crew cadence.
Powertrain options span Samsung lithium, lead-acid electric, Ford 2.5L gasoline, and Deutz 2.9L diesel — the widest driveline selection in class, enabling direct procurement into any airport's existing energy infrastructure. The diesel variant is CE certified. Top speed is 15 mph (24.1 km/h) on all drive variants. Heavy-duty Newage axles, four-wheel disc brakes, and an optional Smart Sense anti-collision system round out a safety and durability specification aimed at high-cycle ramp operations.
