The KritiScan 6040 is a dual-energy, multi-energy X-ray baggage inspection system built around a 610 mm wide by 410 mm high tunnel — the standard form factor for carry-on and cabin-baggage lanes. It uses atomic-number-based material discrimination to colour-code scanned objects by material class (organic, inorganic, metallic), allowing operators to differentiate between explosives, narcotics, ceramics, and electronics on a single pass without opening bags. At passenger security checkpoints the scanner operates inline with divestiture trays, processing cabin baggage at throughput speeds compatible with busy terminal lanes. The software applies distortion correction algorithms to maintain image geometry at all conveyor positions, and an optional Threat Image Projection (TIP) module injects library threat images into live scans to maintain operator vigilance during low-alert periods. Procurement engineers typically choose the 6040 footprint over larger tunnel formats when the checkpoint handles cabin baggage exclusively and floor space is constrained — the compact cabinet and lockable console table allow rapid installation in existing terminal infrastructure without civil modifications. Vehant also offers this platform in a DV (dual-view) and a 6040R (3D reconstruction) variant where budget or threat environment demands greater tomographic depth; specifiers building out a multi-lane checkpoint can mix-and-match across the three. The unit carries AERB India certification covering mechanical, electrical, and radiation safety — the primary regulatory gate for airport deployments in South Asia and increasingly accepted as a reference standard in GCC tender specifications that accept equivalent national authority approvals. A central supervisory console option allows multi-lane image management from a single workstation.
