Altitude Lounge

The Altitude Lounge is a modular soft-seating system designed around a die-cast aluminium leg and extruded beam substructure, with moulded polyurethane foam seating units that can be assembled into virtually any plan geometry — straight runs, back-to-back islands, curved arcs, chaise extensions, U-clusters, and enclosed semi-private bays. The system received the 2023 Australian Good Design Award in Furniture and Lighting, recognising its balance of formal innovation and operational fitness for public infrastructure. Where the Altitude Beam suits high-density gate seating that prioritises throughput, the Altitude Lounge targets dwell-time environments: premium departure lounges, pre-board hold rooms, landside retail concourses, and terminal lobbies where passengers spend 30–120 minutes. Optional sound-absorbing divider panels let planners carve acoustic privacy zones within open-plan terminals — a growing requirement in the GCC's flagship mega-terminals (Riyadh, Doha, Abu Dhabi) that mix family groups, business travellers, and transit passengers in shared lounges. Power integration covers AC outlets, USB-A, USB-C, and wireless charging via connector table and tablet-arm accessories, making the Lounge a viable infrastructure anchor in zones where airlines and airports compete on passenger experience rather than throughput efficiency. Accessories include the Altitude Table in oak, black, and white at 40 cm and 72 cm heights, cantilever tables at 60 cm, and ottomans in three sizes at 42 cm height — components a procurement team can mix within a single purchase order against one manufacturer. Frame finishes and upholstery are specified to meet fire-retardant standards; the product is BIFMA compliant and SGS certified, satisfying the institutional procurement requirements standard across GCC airport tenders.
