A800 Mk 2 Multi-Mode Radar
4D multi-mode AESA radar delivering simultaneous air, ground, and sea surveillance with monopulse elevation measurement and AI-assisted target classification.
The A800 Mk 2 is Blighter's most capable multi-domain sensor, combining active electronically scanned array (AESA) technology with fourth-dimensional Doppler velocity measurement to produce range, azimuth, elevation, and speed data on every track simultaneously. Unlike conventional 2D radars that require a separate elevation-finding step, the A800 Mk 2 builds a true 3D picture in real time, providing the altitude data that operators need to distinguish low-flying UAS from ground clutter without manual intervention.
The system achieves detection of a DJI Phantom-class quadcopter at up to 3 km, a walking person at 5 km, and a winged Class 2 drone at 7 km — with the instrumented maximum range scalable to 20 km for larger or higher-RCS targets. The 90° azimuth sweep covers a 40° vertical cone, suited to the steep look-up angles encountered at perimeter lines adjacent to active airfields or elevated terrain. Drone Spotlighting Mode at 0.25-second dwell supports cueing of kinetic or electronic effectors. Micro-Doppler AI classification separates rotor-driven UAS from birds, vehicles, and human movement without manual operator filtering.
At 31 kg and 130 W on a 24–28 V DC supply, the A800 Mk 2 is deployable on fixed towers, vehicle mounts, or as part of a portable kit for temporary site coverage. Dual encrypted Gigabit Ethernet (TLS 1.3) supports direct integration into C2 platforms and the BlighterNexus sensor-fusion software, enabling multi-radar network operations across large facilities. IP66 housing and a −32 °C to +65 °C operating envelope make it suitable for the Gulf's thermal extremes. MTBF exceeds 65,000 hours. The radar is ITAR-free.
