The AIS 4500/500 is a 4×4 industrial fire-fighting vehicle on the Mercedes-Benz 2041 chassis, designed to provide fire protection across both civil industrial installations and small airports or remote landing strips where a single appliance must cover both risk categories. The configuration reflects a practical operational trade-off: a large 4,500-litre primary water tank supports sustained suppression of structural or process fires typical in industrial settings, while a 500-litre integrated foam concentrate tank supplies foam attack for flammable-liquid incidents and limited airfield ARFF duties. The dual-stage pump — a bronze-body Chinetti unit delivering 3,000 lpm at 10 bar in medium-pressure mode and 400 lpm at 40 bar in high-pressure mode — allows the crew to switch between bulk-flow foam attack and high-pressure direct penetration without vehicle repositioning. The roof-mounted AKRON Streammaster II monitor provides 2,800 lpm with adjustable spray/jet selection, full electric remote control from the cab, rear pump panel, and optional wireless handset, plus a position indicator in the drive cabin and auto-stow function. A front bumper-mounted AKRON Firefox monitor delivers 1,525 lpm at 7 bar as a secondary forward attack stream. Foam is proportioned by an around-the-pump system adjustable from 0–6% at the pump locker. The Mercedes 2041 provides a 20-tonne GVW with a clutch-dependent PTO supporting pump-and-roll operation. Additional equipment includes a telescopic LED light mast (6 m, 2 × 100 W), CAN-BUS-controlled electrical architecture, and an optional 360° bird's-eye camera system. This vehicle suits GCC procurement teams responsible for remote oilfield airstrips, logistics hub terminals, or combined fuel terminal and apron assets.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Industrial fire protection at petrochemical plants, fuel depots, and process facilities requiring both water-volume and foam capability
  • Dual-role coverage of a remote airstrip and adjacent fuel storage or industrial plant with a single appliance
  • Small airports and private airfields in GCC and wider Middle East where ICAO category requirements allow a 4×4 vehicle
  • Rapid-intervention first response at logistics hubs or combined civil-industrial sites pending arrival of dedicated ARFF appliances
  • Oil and gas upstream operational bases with integrated landing pads requiring on-site foam-capable fire cover
  • Fleet standardisation programmes on Mercedes-Benz commercial chassis for combined industrial and airfield fire service fleets
