ARFF 12000/S HRET Crash Tender
ICAO-category crash tender with a 20-metre High Reach Extendable Turret for simultaneous water, foam, and dry-powder attack on wide-body aircraft fires.
The ARFF 12000/S is Carrozzeria Chinetti's flagship airport rescue and fire-fighting vehicle, purpose-built around a bespoke 6×6 special chassis with single or twin-engine configurations and power outputs configurable up to and beyond 1,000 HP. Its defining feature is the High Reach Extendable Turret (HRET) — a telescopic boom with two articulated sections plus one telescopic section, reaching a working height of up to 20 metres. The boom-mounted Hydrochem monitor can simultaneously discharge water/foam at up to 6,000 lpm and dry chemical powder at 9 kg/sec, while a dedicated piercing nozzle delivers 1,000 lpm directly into fuselage cavities. All HRET functions are joystick-controlled from the drive cabin. The vehicle carries 12,000 litres of water and 1,450 litres of foam concentrate in polypropylene tanks, with a Chinetti "Around the Pump CFR" proportioning system covering 0–6% mixing ratio. A 250 kg DCP cartridge supplements the HRET attack through an additional hose-reel Hydrochem nozzle. A bumper-mounted Firefox monitor provides a 950 lpm forward attack stream. Bodywork is stainless steel and light alloy, or fully light alloy depending on specification. This vehicle addresses the highest ICAO rescue categories — typically ICAO Cat 9 and 10 — making it the correct procurement choice for airports handling A380, B747-8, or similar Code F traffic where a standard roof-turret appliance cannot reach upper-deck cabin windows or fuel-venting areas. The GCC operational context — high temperatures, long taxiway response runs — favours the twin-engine option and all-single-tyre configuration for maximum unimpeded acceleration.

Use cases.
- ›Primary ARFF appliance at ICAO Category 9–10 airports handling wide-body and super-jumbo aircraft
- ›Upper-deck and fuselage-cavity fire attack where standard roof-turret reach is insufficient
- ›Simultaneous three-agent attack (water/foam + DCP) from a single vehicle during a single response
- ›Hub airports requiring rapid sub-25-second 0–80 km/h performance across extended airside distances
- ›GCC international airports needing twin-engine redundancy and high-temperature durability
- ›Replacement or supplementary appliance where ICAO category upgrade demands HRET capability
