CIMC-TianDa Unmanned Intelligent PBB

World's first unmanned PBB — B777 docked in 48 seconds at AMS.

CIMC-TianDa's unmanned intelligent PBB was the world's first autonomous jet bridge to enter commercial service, docking a Boeing 777 at Amsterdam Schiphol in 48 seconds without human input. The system pairs machine-vision cameras on the cab, LiDAR on the bogie and a PLC-based safety controller that halts movement on any envelope breach. It is fully CUTE/CUPPS-compatible and publishes status to the airport AODB in real time. Targeted at high-turn-volume hubs where reducing gate-occupancy time by 1–2 minutes per flight has meaningful fleet-utilisation impact.
