DedroneDefender 2
AI-guided handheld smart jammer that neutralises multiple drones simultaneously beyond 300 m using broad-spectrum and GNSS disruption with a 20-degree targeting cone.
DedroneDefender 2 is Dedrone's second-generation defeat device, designed to sit at the kinetic end of a complete counter-UAS kill chain. Where DedroneTracker.AI and the RF sensor family handle detection, classification, and operator alerting, the Defender 2 is the response tool — purpose-built to safely and reliably bring down unauthorised UAS in environments where collateral electronic disruption must be kept to a minimum.
The core mitigation mechanism is RF jamming: the unit transmits broad-spectrum interference across the primary drone command-and-control frequencies and adds GNSS disruption across GPS L-bands, interrupting both the datalink between the drone and its operator and the satellite navigation the drone uses to hold position or follow a programmed route. The practical effect on most commercial and hobbyist UAS is an immediate return-to-home command or a controlled descent, rather than an uncontrolled crash. Multi-drone engagements are supported simultaneously, important at sites where a single distraction drone may accompany a primary threat.
The AI-powered targeting component closes the intelligence loop: when paired with DedroneTracker.AI, the Defender 2 receives autonomous targeting cues — the precise direction and drone protocol type identified by the C2 platform — so the operator can engage threats beyond direct line of sight using the unit's 20-degree targeting cone as a guidance display rather than relying on naked-eye observation. Effective defeat range exceeds 300 metres. Compared with the original DedroneDefender, the second generation adds GPS L-band coverage and increases the RF output power through a high-gain multi-band custom antenna, closing gaps against newer drone platforms that added L-band GNSS redundancy specifically to defeat first-generation jammers.
The system holds US DHS Safety Act Designation and SAPIENT compliance, the two credentials most frequently specified in government airport and critical-infrastructure C-UAS procurement in NATO-aligned markets and increasingly referenced in GCC government tenders as regional states upgrade airport perimeter security.
