The ReDrone Portable CUAS (PDS/PDJS) is the man-portable tier of Elbit Systems' ReDrone family, designed for individual operators, small security teams, and maneuvering units who need C-UAS coverage without fixed infrastructure. The system is offered in two hardware configurations: the PDS (Portable Detection System), a pure detection sensor at 3.1 kg including batteries, and the PDJS (Portable Detection and Jamming Unified System), which adds a band-selective jammer and brings total weight to under 10 kg.

Both units scan 400 MHz to 6,000 MHz with full 360° azimuth coverage and classify detected signals against a continuously updatable drone and remote-control database — including unknown drone RF signatures via Elbit's proprietary machine learning algorithm. The PDJS jammer neutralises RC links across all major commercial drone frequency bands (400 MHz, 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz) and degrades GNSS navigation simultaneously, producing a roughly 1 km-diameter electromagnetic exclusion zone. The system transports in a ruggedized carry case or mounts directly onto an ATV or AFV for mobile patrol work.

For airport and facility security teams, this unit fills the coverage gap that fixed perimeter systems cannot: foot patrols, airshow security cordons, runway FOD inspections, and rapid-deployment responses to declared drone incursions. Battery endurance of 7.5 hours with 10% continuous jamming duty-cycle suits a full operational shift. In GCC airport environments — where ground temperatures, dust, and high-ambient RF noise are design constraints — the passive RF-based detection architecture avoids the clutter and licensing complications associated with active radar at low altitude.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Foot-patrol and rapid-reaction security at airports, providing mobile C-UAS coverage away from fixed sensor nodes
  • Airshow, VIP arrival, and public event security where a small team must protect a defined perimeter
  • Convoy and motorcade protection for ground vehicles operating in and around airport landside or military airfield environments
  • First-responder drone-incident response — deployable from a vehicle within seconds of a declared incursion
  • Supplementary coverage during infrastructure maintenance windows when fixed systems must be taken offline
  • Forward operating base perimeter security requiring a self-contained, lightweight individual C-UAS capability
