A380 C-Check + Heavy Maintenance at Etihad Engineering (AUH)
Region's only double-bay A380 hangar with dedicated A380-rated paint shop and in-house STC issue.
Scheduled 18–24-month interval C-check covering airframe primary structure, systems checks, landing-gear swap-out, cabin deep-clean, composite repair, and full pre-service run-up — performed in Etihad Engineering's purpose-built double-bay A380 hangar at Abu Dhabi International (AUH). The dedicated A380-rated paint hangar is currently the only one of its kind in the GCC and one of only a handful globally, allowing combined heavy-check + livery refresh in a single down-time slot. EASA Part-21/J Design Organisation Approval enables in-house STC engineering for cabin and avionics modifications scheduled into the same hangar visit, removing OEM-engineering bottlenecks that delay competing MROs.
