Flexnet Modem (3G/4G)
0.6 kg gateway-powered 3G/4G modem giving Flexnet sensor fields worldwide encrypted-VPN reachback.
The Flexnet Modem extends the communication range of the Flexnet UGS system from radio line-of-sight to worldwide. Connected to any Flexnet Gateway, it backhauls the sensor network over 3G/4G cellular networks, so a sensor field deployed on a remote border segment or an airport perimeter can be monitored and controlled from an operations room anywhere - as long as there is cellular coverage at the gateway site. All communication is carried out over an encrypted VPN connection on top of the system's AES-256 encrypted transmission, keeping alarm data, imagery and remote-control traffic protected across public networks. The unit is deliberately minimal in the field: compact and lightweight at 85 x 36 x 160 mm and 0.6 kg, it draws its power from the connected Gateway and needs no battery or additional power supply of its own, adding almost nothing to the logistics of a deployment. Like the rest of the Flexnet family it is qualified to MIL-STD-810 environmental and MIL-STD-461 EMC standards and operates across -32 to +71 degrees C. Typical applications are remote reachback for unattended border and pipeline sensor fields, networked monitoring of multiple dispersed airport or critical-infrastructure sites from a central control room, and rapid expeditionary deployments where long-range radio chains are impractical.
