Photoelectric/ionisation dual-sensor for Class C/E holds.
The Kidde cargo bay smoke detector is a dual-photoelectric + ionisation unit fitted to Class C and Class E cargo holds on the A320, A330, A350, A380, 737, 777 and 787 families. Sensitivity of 0.5 %/m obscuration per FAR 25.858. Designed to resist cargo-hold false alarms (dust, humidity, altitude) via dual-sensor AND logic. Kidde retains the majority of OEM line-fit contracts worldwide, with overhaul and calibration performed at FAA/EASA Part-145 MROs in Dubai and Doha.
