VIP & Private Hand-Tufted Carpets
Handcrafted one-of-a-kind tufted carpets in wool, silk, and Lurex, produced in Switzerland for executive jet and VVIP completions since 1977.
Lantal's hand-tufted carpet programme serves the executive aviation and VVIP completion market, which sits apart from commercial airline carpet supply in both specification and production method. Each carpet is manufactured individually at Lantal's Swiss facility using a manual tufting process, and no two carpets are identical. The programme has been active since 1977 and supplies completions centres and VIP refurbishment specialists worldwide. Materials used include 100% wool, silk, leather strips, synthetic performance yarns, and Lurex metallic thread. Wool extra grade provides the highest pile density and durability for high-footfall areas such as centre aisles and entryways; lighter wool ultra-light constructions are available where weight budget is tightly constrained on smaller business jets. The full weight range extends from weight-optimised utility constructions to deep-pile luxury grades used in stateroom and lounge areas of large-cabin completions. Design latitude is extensive: from plain-field monochrome in any specified colour to multi-level relief constructions with embossed company insignia, geometric patterns, or pictorial motifs. Custom shapes — including non-rectangular aisle runners, curved fuselage-wall-to-floor transitions, and step nosings — are cut and tufted to template. Silk and Lurex accents are used selectively to introduce sheen and surface contrast in areas where ambient lighting design benefits from reflective flooring elements. All materials used comply with applicable aviation fire standards. The product is positioned alongside other Swiss-made cabin materials — stone veneer, bespoke millwork, custom leather — in the VVIP completion supply chain, and is commonly specified by completion centres working on BBJ, ACJ, and large-cabin Gulfstream and Dassault programmes.
