Schmidt Street King 660 truck-mounted airport sweeper (distributed by Manmachine Works)
High-throughput truck-mounted sweeper with a 9.2 m³ hopper and optional airport conversion for glycol recovery and extended runway coverage.
The Schmidt Street King 660 is a large-format truck-mounted sweeper, mounting on class-7 or class-8 chassis in the 15–18 tonne range and carrying one of the largest hoppers in its class at 9.2 m³ (approximately 7 m³ metric). For airport applications, the Street King 660 is configurable as an airport conversion with a glycol-recovery suction unit for de-icing agent collection and expanded water tanks for extended runway passes — directly relevant to hub airports that handle winter operations or operate under ICAO contaminated runway protocols. In its standard configuration, the machine sweeps at variable speeds up to 25 km/h with a hydrostatic or motor-driven suction fan delivering approximately 635,000 ft³/h of airflow. An integrated roller brush in the suction shaft improves sweeping speed throughput by 15% versus earlier Schmidt designs. A 1,600-litre standard water tank (optional auxiliary tanks add up to 1,000 litres) feeds the dust suppression circuit. The 60° hopper tipping angle ensures complete discharge even with heavy wet debris loads, and a patented radar-based hopper-fill sensor prevents overloading in high-debris conditions. A CAN-bus-controlled 7-inch colour display gives operators full system visibility from the cab. The Street King 660 is also available in a dual-unit configuration to achieve sweeping widths up to 3.5 metres in a single pass — useful for rapid runway clearance. Noise suppression and PM10 certification are standard.
