The McQ rScene is a rugged ground-based micro radar for unattended detection, classification and tracking of people and vehicles across a protected perimeter or approach corridor. Operating at 23.5-26 GHz with a phased array antenna, it measures both target range and azimuth, enabling simultaneous multi-target tracking with direction and speed - capabilities that go beyond point UGS detection - while maintaining performance in rain, fog, foliage and cluttered urban or coastal environments. Two field-of-view models are offered: a 45-degree wide FOV for close-range coverage and a 25-degree narrow FOV for extended range. Setup is simple with no calibration required; the compact 453 g radar head is tripod- or post-mounted, easily camouflaged, and deployable in urban centres, marine environments and beyond border fences where traditional buried sensors may be ineffective. Detections and rich track metadata transmit wirelessly over McQ's 902-928 MHz TNet network to command displays, integrating with TacSAD PC and Android apps and existing surveillance networks, and rScene tracks can cue McQ OWL cameras for visual verification. Power draw is 2.5 W typical (0.79 W low-power mode) from a 9-18 V supply, with a built-in solar charge controller for near-indefinite autonomous operation from -25 to +60 C. The April 2024 datasheet's field-of-view plots show vehicle detection extending to roughly 240 m on the 25-degree narrow-FOV model and roughly 180 m on the 45-degree wide-FOV model, with personnel detection to roughly 60 m on both. An external AC adapter option (supplied in the RS-K1202 kit) extends operation indefinitely, and a matching battery case (190.5 x 171.5 x 101.6 mm, 2 kg including battery) supports field deployments. Three published kit configurations cover the deployment options: RS-K1002 radar sensor kit, RS-K1102 with solar power and RS-K1202 with external power. McQ Inc. is an ISO 9001:2015-registered company based in Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA.
