MHI-TES STEPLESS Barrier-Free PBB
World's first fully flat, barrier-free tunnel floor.
STEPLESS is MHI-TES's barrier-free PBB with a completely flat floor throughout the full length of the tunnel — the world's first such design when delivered to Tokyo-Haneda international terminal (16 units). The mechanism eliminates the step/plate transitions at telescoping joints that traditionally create accessibility friction for wheelchair users and rolling luggage. Tokyo-Haneda runs 16 units in daily service; Miyazaki Airport added three more during its 2017 renovation, alongside two 'Long PBB' variants engineered for remote stands.
