The TV 1000 Performance Line is Øveraasen's mid-range self-propelled snow blower, balancing very high clearing capacity with the handling agility needed on busy airfields. Two separate Volvo Penta engines — a driving engine (235 kW / 320 HP, EU Stage V D8) and a dedicated blower engine (585 kW, EU Stage V D16) — give a combined rated output of approximately 820 kW (1,000 HP), with each power train independently controlled for optimum efficiency across varying snow conditions. At the rated working speed the machine clears in excess of 7,500 tonnes per hour (the TV 1000+ variant reaches 8,500 t/h), with a maximum casting distance of 40–50 metres. Snow depth tolerance runs from 1 cm to 2 metres in a single pass. Clearing width is 3,430 mm. The machine weighs 35,500 kg and reaches a transport speed of 50–62 km/h, enabling rapid repositioning between runway strips without escorts in many regulatory frameworks. The signature feature is the Flying Cab: the operator cabin is mounted on a separate swivelling structure independent of the blower chute, allowing it to be placed ahead of or behind the discharge point. This eliminates the visibility blind spot that affects conventional blower cabs and is a primary safety differentiator on busy airfields. The cabin isolation also reduces vibration and noise transmission during high-speed operations. Vancouver International Airport (YVR) selected the TV 1000+ as part of its 2023 winter-readiness fleet expansion, citing its horsepower-per-tonne-cleared value and operator visibility. For GCC procurement teams planning winter-capability fleets for high-altitude aerodromes or continental hub airports, the TV 1000 offers near-TV-2100 capacity at a reduced weight and cost envelope.

Best for

Use cases.

  • Primary snow blower role at international airports requiring sustained multi-hour heavy-accumulation clearance
  • Operations where operator visibility is critical — congested apron areas or simultaneous aircraft movement
  • Post-plough windrow clearing on main runways after initial pass by heavy snow plough fleet
  • Winter-readiness fleets at hub airports where the TV 2100 footprint and weight exceed airfield load limits
  • Coordinated two-machine blower operations on parallel runway systems requiring rapid cross-repositioning
