Senstar FiberPatrol FP400
Zone-based fiber optic fence sensor - 4 zones x 300 m, up to 20 km lead-in, nothing powered in the field
FiberPatrol FP400 is Senstar's zone-based fiber optic fence-mounted intrusion detection sensor for smaller sites and remote critical infrastructure. Each processor supports four detection zones with up to 300 m of sensor cable per zone, and up to 20 km of insensitive fiber optic lead-in cable between the processor and the first zone - so the electronics can sit in a secure equipment room far from the perimeter, with no powered or conductive components in the field. The system monitors the minute flexing of a loose-tube fiber optic cable attached to the fence fabric, detecting climbing, cutting or lifting; probability of detection is a minimum of 95% (95% confidence) on a high-quality fence, and a cable cut is itself detected within 3 seconds. Zones are formed by Start/End modules housed in weather-proof splice enclosures, with the same cable type used for lead-in and sensing sections. Senstar's Environmentally Derived Adaptive Processing Technology (EDAPT) accounts for background noise from wind and heavy rain before declaring an alarm, raising detection probability while minimising nuisance alarms; high-speed sampling and DSP with tunable settings adapt the sensor to different fence types and conditions. The Class 1, 1550 nm laser sensor cable is immune to EMI and lightning and intrinsically safe in explosive atmospheres, making the FP400 well suited to electrical substations, pipeline valve and pump stations, oil and gas well-pads, and fuel farms - common assets across GCC aviation and energy estates. The conformally coated, outdoor-rated processor operates from -40 to +70 deg C, draws just 2 W from 12-48 VDC or PoE, and offers six Form C relay outputs plus two auxiliary inputs that can monitor gate contacts or ancillary sensors such as PIRs. It panel-mounts, fits two-per-1U on a 19-inch rack shelf, or installs outdoors in a protective enclosure. Built-in Ethernet with on-board alarm queuing and the common Network Manager protocol link the FP400 to Senstar and third-party SMS/VMS/PSIM and access control platforms, with a free SDK for custom integration.
