PAXWAY Fully Flat Model
A step-free, universally accessible passenger boarding bridge designed to eliminate floor-level barriers for all boarding passengers.
The PAXWAY Fully Flat Model is a passenger boarding bridge (PBB) engineered around a universal-design principle: the tunnel floor is completely level from terminal to aircraft door, with no raised edges, steps, or gutters. Both side gutters have been removed, resulting in a wider usable passageway than a conventional bridge. This makes it the preferred choice at terminals handling high volumes of passengers with reduced mobility, wheelchair users, and passengers with rolling carry-on luggage.
The model is deployed at international and domestic terminals where operator duty-of-care requirements and accessibility regulations demand step-free boarding. It is compatible with the full PAXWAY standard feature set, including the Preset Drive function and optional AI Docking System. The flat-floor architecture does not restrict aircraft compatibility — the model is available in multiple wall configurations and can be paired with the A380-compatible upper-deck arrangement.
From a procurement standpoint, the Fully Flat Model represents the highest-specification accessibility baseline in the PAXWAY range. It is the preferred choice where terminal design standards require level-access compliance (for example, under ICAO Annex 9 facilitation principles or local accessibility legislation). Airports in the GCC that are expanding to accommodate wide-body widebody traffic, or that are targeting premium passenger experience benchmarks, will find this model a natural fit for their front-line contact gates. The removal of gutters also reduces cleaning burden and potential trip-hazard maintenance compared to conventional bridge floors.
