Sentinel 4x4 / 6x6
Dedicated-chassis ARFF appliance for ICAO Category 4–9 airports, combining SIDES ergonomic cab design with proven pump and monitor systems on a TITAN platform.
The Sentinel 4x4 and 6x6 are the mid-range members of SIDES' purpose-built ARFF appliance family, occupying the category of airports that operate narrow-body and medium wide-body jet fleets. Both variants share the SIDES Ergonomic Cab — characterised by the absence of a centre column, wide access points, and a low dashboard — which shortens crew boarding time and improves forward visibility on the apron.
The 4x4 is built on the TITAN T26-650 chassis with a single Mercedes engine, carrying up to 6,000 L of water and a 500 kg powder unit, with the SIDES SB 10.6000 pump producing up to 7,200 L/min at 12 bar. Its SM 30 monitor delivers 3,000 L/min to 65 m. Weighing 26 tonnes at operating weight and measuring 10.2 m in length, it is appropriate for airports handling regional jets through to single-aisle jets at ICAO Category 4–7 level.
The 6x6 steps up to the TITAN T36-650 chassis, increasing water capacity to 12,500 L and fitting the larger SM 60 monitor with a 6,000 L/min output and 100 m range. At 36 tonnes and 11.8 m, it is configured for busier domestic and regional hub airports in the ICAO Category 6–8 bracket that handle both single-aisle and twin-aisle operations. Both variants exceed ICAO acceleration requirements (0–80 km/h beyond ICAO standard) and are NFPA compliant with a top speed of 115 km/h.
For GCC airport operators, the Renault, MAN, Mercedes, and Scania chassis options available on the 6x6 simplify parts sourcing in markets where those OEM dealer networks are established.
