CTX 9800 DSi
High-speed inline CT EDS for major airport hold baggage halls, with triple-authority certification.
The CTX 9800 DSi in its baggage handling system deployment variant is the same high-speed CT explosives detection engine as the standalone model, specified and integrated for inline HBS conveyor operation. In this configuration the system is engineered to interface with standard BHS conveyor heights, widths, and control interfaces — the 889 mm conveyor height and selectable belt speed (0.2, 0.3, or 0.5 m/s) are matched to common HBS specifications from major conveyor integrators.
The 1,020 mm CT tunnel diameter handles the full range of checked baggage dimensions including oversize items. CT-based detection produces automatic explosive detection decisions without requiring an operator to review every image, enabling the system to maintain 1,800 bags per hour throughput at peak while sustaining detection performance — the core engineering challenge in hold baggage screening at hub airports.
ECAC EDS Standard 3, Standard 3.1, TSA, and CAAC certifications cover the three dominant regulatory frameworks. This breadth is a practical requirement for airports serving international routes to Europe, North America, and China simultaneously, and for OEM airports that specify multi-regulatory compliance as a baseline.
For procurement teams evaluating HBS projects, the CTX 9800 DSi in HBS configuration is differentiated from the HI-SCAN 10080 XCT (a similar CT class but different physical integration profile) by its circular 1,020 mm tunnel versus the 1,070 × 810 mm rectangular tunnel of the XCT — a distinction that affects conveyor integration geometry and civil works scope.
