NBL-E
Fully electric all-aircraft belt loader with multi-chemistry battery options and 1,200 kg distributed capacity.
The NBL-E is TLD's full-fleet electric belt loader, engineered to service bulk cargo doors across the complete aircraft spectrum — from turboprop feeders at one end to widebody freighters at the other. It is the zero-emission variant of TLD's established NBL platform, retaining the same structural dimensions and load ratings while replacing the combustion drivetrain with AC electric motors and multiple battery options.
The conveyor operates at a fixed 18 m/min belt speed over a 600 mm wide belt, with a 7,800 mm boom length that spans the full range of aircraft bulk door heights from approximately 1.2 m to 4.3 m off the ground — covering both the lowest belly door of a regional jet and the forward bulk doors of an A330 or B767. Distributed load capacity is 1,200 kg, with a maximum boom angle concentrated load of 600 kg. Traction and hydraulics are driven by a 15 kW AC asynchronous motor paired with a 4 kW electro-hydraulic pump, both running off an 80 V / 450 Ah battery pack.
A key commercial differentiator is the battery configurability: operators can specify lead-acid, TLD iBS Lithium-Ion, hydrogen, or hybrid power sources from the factory, allowing procurement teams to match the energy system to their existing ground-fleet infrastructure or fleet electrification roadmap rather than being locked into a single chemistry. TLD's Aircraft Safe Docking (ASD) system provides proximity sensing during final approach to the aircraft, reducing the risk of hard-contact events on tight aprons. For ramps in the GCC where apron temperatures routinely exceed 40 °C, the AC motor architecture reduces maintenance frequency relative to DC brush systems operating in high-heat conditions.
