B400 Series Radar
Long-range ground surveillance radar detecting crawlers at 4.6 km and vehicles at 20 km, with zero moving parts and 38 W average power consumption.
The B400 Series is Blighter's family of long-range, electronically scanned ground surveillance radars designed for persistent wide-area monitoring of terrestrial threats — people on foot, crawling intruders, and ground vehicles — as well as low-flying aerial targets crossing flat terrain. Operating in the Ku band (15.7–17.2 GHz) using FMCW Doppler waveform, the B400 uses a wide elevation beam that presses the detection footprint close to the surface, giving it the ground-hugging geometry needed to detect a crawling individual with a radar cross-section of 0.1 m² at 4.6 km, a walking person at 11 km, and a moving vehicle at 20 km.
The absence of moving parts is the defining operational characteristic: mean time between failures exceeds 65,000 hours, and Blighter's own in-service reliability data projects zero-maintenance performance over a five-year service life. At 38.4 W average power consumption from a 12 V regulated supply, a standard vehicle battery or small solar array can sustain the sensor continuously — a critical attribute for remote border posts and offshore energy infrastructure in regions where grid power is unavailable.
Scanning is fully electronic: a 90° sector sweeps in one second, with 180°, 270°, and full 360° configurations available by adding auxiliary units. The system connects over 10/100 Ethernet with RS-232/RS-422 auxiliary control lines, and integrates with Blighter's BlighterNexus C2 platform for multi-radar network operations. IP66 weatherproofing and a −32 °C to +60 °C operating range cover the sand, salt, humidity, and thermal extremes common to Gulf border and coastal perimeter installations. The B400 is ITAR-free, easing direct procurement by GCC defence and interior ministry customers.
