The CAE 7000XR Series is a Level D full-flight simulator (FFS) representing the current generation of CAE's flagship civil aviation simulation equipment. Built around a six-degree-of-freedom True electric motion system, it replaces legacy hydraulic actuation with a platform that draws less than one quarter of the comparable hydraulic power draw while supporting cab structures up to approximately 11,340 kg, reducing infrastructure and operating cost at busy training centres.

The visual system uses the CAE Tropos 6000XR image generator delivering continuous, high-fidelity out-the-window scenes. Airport data is kept current through CAE True Airport Services, and the CAE Airport Clutter Editor allows instructors to build custom ramp, taxiway, and traffic scenarios without external software tools. The redesigned instructor office provides a next-generation ergonomic workspace with integrated lesson plan builder, 3D flight-path mapping, and event-marker overlays, reducing lesson-prep time on type.

The 7000XR is qualified under FAA Part 60 Change 2, covering Extended Envelope and Adverse Weather Training, and holds EASA Level D status, enabling zero-flight-time type rating and revalidation training. Embedded UPRT (Upset Prevention and Recovery Training) capability is configured to current regulatory requirements, including full stall, bounced and crosswind landing, and icing event training.

The platform supports a broad range of commercial transport aircraft types. It has been deployed by airline training centres across the Middle East, including the Emirates-CAE Flight Training joint venture in Dubai, which operates 7000XR devices for Boeing 737 MAX and other narrow-body types. The modular architecture delivers a 25 percent reduction in part count versus prior generations, simplifying scheduled maintenance and AOG recovery at high-throughput GCC training hubs.
