Cam-Flo is Camfil's primary bag filter line for demanding airside and industrial applications, with a specific turbomachinery inlet variant — the Cam-Flo GT Hybrid — engineered as the first-stage barrier in gas turbine and compressor air intake systems. The Hybrid media technology combines glass fibres with synthetic fibres in a single sheet, giving the filter a dual role: it removes harmful solid particles across a wide size range while simultaneously acting as a coalescing stage that captures and drains fine water droplets from the inlet airstream. This coalescing capability is critical for turbine protection in humid, coastal, or rain-prone environments where liquid water ingestion accelerates blade erosion and hot-section corrosion.

The general ventilation Cam-Flo variant covers MERV 11, 13, and 16/15A grades at flows up to 2,500 cfm per filter, with steel, wood, or plastic frame options suited to the structural demands of industrial intake housings. The turbomachinery variant is classified to M6, F7, and F9 per EN 779/ISO 16890, providing a graduated pre-filtration cascade before high-efficiency final-stage filters in multi-stage inlet systems.

In aviation-adjacent power and utilities, airport-based combined heat and power plants and APU test rigs both use gas turbine air intake systems where Cam-Flo GT Hybrid serves as the pre-stage filter. GCC airport energy centres running gas turbines for peak cooling and power generation face abrasive desert dust alongside transient humidity events — conditions the hybrid glass-synthetic media handles more durably than all-synthetic alternatives. The fully incinerable construction simplifies end-of-life disposal.
