AquaForce 30XV Variable-Speed Air-Cooled Chiller

The AquaForce 30XV is a variable-speed, air-cooled screw chiller that uses an integrated variable-frequency drive on the compressor shaft to track partial-load demand continuously rather than cycling compressors on and off. The result is sustained high efficiency across the typical operating profile of a large building, where full-load conditions are rarely sustained for more than a fraction of annual run hours.

In aviation infrastructure, the 30XV fits buildings where routing chilled-water pipes to a cooling tower is impractical or where rooftop or yard placement is preferred — terminal expansions, satellite concourses, cargo warehouses, and ramp-side support buildings. Its broad ambient operating band, from -20°F to 125°F (-29°C to 52°C), addresses the high dry-bulb temperatures common across Gulf airports without requiring supplementary pre-cooling of condenser air.

Within the Carrier air-cooled range, the 30XV occupies the large-format tier — above the AquaSnap 30RC scroll units — and uses a rotary screw rather than scroll compressors to handle the higher tonnage range. The microchannel condenser coils with optional e-coating corrosion protection are well-suited to coastal Gulf environments where salt-laden air accelerates aluminium coil corrosion. A waterside economizer option is factory-available, enabling free cooling during milder nights or winter months to reduce compressor run hours further. Controls communicate via BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks, so the unit integrates directly into airport BMS platforms.
