City-Flo Bag Filter
Hybrid bag filter combining MERV 13/14 particulate capture with an activated-carbon layer for combined dust-and-odour duty in a single filter slot.
City-Flo is a dual-function pocket filter that addresses both particulate and molecular contamination from a single filter position — an important capability where AHU filter banks have limited stages and a separate carbon bank is impractical. The filter combines a conical-pocket synthetic bag at MERV 13 (standard) or MERV 14 (XL model) efficiency with a broad-spectrum activated-carbon layer, enabling simultaneous capture of fine dust, bioaerosols, and the chemical gas-phase contaminants typical of urban and transit-hub environments.
The carbon element uses the same Rapid Adsorption Dynamics (RAD) mechanism found in Camfil's dedicated molecular filter range, providing broad removal of VOCs, odours, NOₓ, and ozone rather than narrow-spectrum sorbent exhaustion patterns. Low initial pressure drop and high media area extend service intervals compared with single-function alternatives, reducing the frequency of changeouts in hard-to-access ceiling AHUs or rooftop units.
For airport procurement, City-Flo is relevant wherever single-stage filtration is the operational constraint: retrofit terminal AHUs with only one filter rack, modular rooftop units serving pier or satellite gates, and smaller ancillary buildings (cargo offices, staff facilities, fuel farm control rooms) where a full multi-stage bank is oversized. The XL model's rigid aerodynamic front frame reduces bypass leakage — a relevant concern in older housing systems with worn gasket tracks. ASHRAE 52.2 compliance provides the efficiency baseline required by most facility management specifications.
