Flexnet UGS System
Operationally proven wireless unattended ground sensor network for covert detection, classification and identification of threats.
Flexnet is Exensor's flagship unattended ground sensor (UGS) capability: a toolbox of wireless, battery-powered sensors, cameras and gateways that detects, classifies and identifies threats and targets without exposing operators or equipment. Every item in the system - sensor, camera or gateway - acts as a node in a self-configuring, self-adaptive wireless mesh network, routing alarm data back to the operator over AES-256 encrypted links, with each node carrying its own integrated GPS receiver for automatic self-localisation, mesh radio, rechargeable battery and anti-tamper alarm. The sensor toolbox fuses seismic, acoustic, magnetic and thermal data to detect and classify targets locally at the node, keeping radio traffic and false alarms low. Nodes include the Mini Mk3 seismic/acoustic sensor, PIR passive-infrared barrier, Scout Mk3 and Scout X imagers, MicroRadar person-detection radar and the Surveyor vehicle-identification sensor, connected through Gateway, Gateway-S and Gateway-V base stations with optional 3G/4G modem backhaul into the map-based Flexnet Commander C2 software. The system is lightweight, compact, hand-emplaced and rapidly deployable, and scales from a standalone deployment to full integration into an existing Battlefield Management System (BMS), with API support for third-party sensor integration. Applications include force protection, border control, airport and critical-infrastructure perimeter surveillance, and reconnaissance operations.
