Lufthansa Technik Components Services provides airlines and operators with two complementary procurement paths: individual component repair and overhaul through in-house workshops, and comprehensive Total Component Support (TCS) contracts that replace a carrier's own provisioning operation entirely. Under TCS, an operator gains guaranteed 24/7 access to Lufthansa Technik's global spare-parts pool — more than USD 2 billion of inventory held across 15 strategically distributed logistics centres — with assured availability of like-for-like replacements at pre-negotiated service levels. The open-loop model means the operator receives a serviceable unit within the agreed response window; Lufthansa Technik manages the return, repair, and reintegration cycle in the background.

In-house workshop capability spans avionics, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, water and galley equipment, and emergency equipment, with over 120 OEM licences authorising repairs across the full suite. The Tulsa facility, expanded to 25,000 sq ft in early 2026, now handles more than 37,000 shop-load events per year with 90 dedicated workstations and an upgraded avionics workshop. Beyond OEM parts, the programme offers PMAs, DERs, 21J approvals, and CRAS repairs as cost-reduction alternatives where operator and regulatory conditions allow.

For GCC carriers managing rapid fleet additions — including the Saudia ten-year TCS contract for its Airbus fleet, signed at the Dubai Airshow — the model eliminates significant working capital tied up in owned spares and converts unpredictable AOG expenditure into a fixed, plannable cost structure. The Middle East AOG Help Desk in Dubai provides regional first-response co-ordination around the clock.
