TPX-200-MTX-E
Full-electric multi-type towbarless tractor covering the complete spectrum from A220 to fully loaded B777 and A350.
The TPX-200-MTX-E is TLD's most capable electric towbarless tractor in the 200-series family, extending coverage from the TPX-200-E's 250-tonne ceiling up to the full Boeing 777 series and Airbus A350 — the two heaviest twin-engine widebody types in current production. The 'MTX' designation signals Multi-Type eXtended compatibility: the machine can capture and push back every commercial aircraft from the Airbus A220-100 at one end to a fully loaded B777-300ER at the other without a tractor change, making it the lowest-complexity fleet solution for hubs that operate a genuinely mixed widebody roster.
Specific type compatibility covers Airbus A220-100/-300, A319/A320/A321, A300/A310, the full A330/A340 range, A350, the Douglas DC-9/MD-80/MD-90/DC-10/MD-11 family, and Boeing B737, B757, B767, B787, and B777 (all variants). The powertrain is the same iBS Li-Ion battery platform used across the TLD electric range, ensuring common charging infrastructure and interchangeable battery packs with other fleet assets.
The chassis retains the anti-jack-knife central articulation and failsafe automated loading cycle that characterise the TPX-200 platform, extended to accommodate the wider NLG widths and higher nose-gear loads of fully-loaded widebody types. Two-wheel steer / two-wheel drive configuration is retained. An optional elevating cab is available to handle aircraft with elevated NLG positions, including EMB190, B727, and underbelly maintenance work. For GCC hub operators running Emirates or Qatar Airways-scale mixed-fleet gate operations — where a single gate can see an A320 followed by a B777 — the MTX-E eliminates the need to rotate tractors or hold a second machine in reserve for widebody turns.

Use cases.
- ›Hub pushback operations covering both narrow-body and heavy widebody (B777, A350) at the same gate
- ›Fleet rationalisation — single tractor type serving the full commercial aircraft spectrum
- ›Large international airports in the GCC operating mixed Airbus/Boeing widebody fleets
- ›Zero-emission pushback programmes requiring common electric infrastructure across all aircraft sizes
- ›Maintenance repositioning and hangar towing of the full widebody fleet
