Etihad Engineering's Airframe Services division delivers the full spectrum of aircraft maintenance — line, light, C-check, and multi-year heavy checks — from its 550,000 sq m campus adjacent to Abu Dhabi International Airport. The facility accommodates up to 40 widebody and narrowbody aircraft simultaneously across nine widebody bays, two dedicated paint hangars covering 10,000 sq m, and a custom-designed hall that can induct three Airbus A380s at the same time. Component shops on-site span 6,000 sq m with test, repair, and overhaul capability across more than 5,000 part numbers.

The type roster covers the aircraft that dominate Gulf, Asian, and European widebody fleets: A319/A320/A321, A330, A340, A380, A350, Boeing 737, 757, 767, 777, and 787. Etihad Engineering is recognised as a centre of excellence for both the A380 and B787, having completed six-year (6Y) heavy checks and full strip-and-paint cycles on both platforms for third-party customers across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Australia.

For procurement teams, the key differentiator is geographic: Abu Dhabi sits within a five-hour ferry radius of the majority of GCC, South Asian, and East African fleets, reducing positioning time and AOG exposure. The facility holds GCAA, EASA Part 145, and FAA approvals — meaning an operator can use a single MRO event to satisfy multiple regulatory authorities. Services include advanced composite repair, cabin reconfiguration, avionics upgrades, IFE changeover, connectivity installation, and exterior repaint — supporting an operator from routine A-check through to major structural modification within one campus.
