Technical Training

Etihad Engineering Technical Training operates as one of the few Approved Maintenance Training Organisations (AMTOs) in the GCC holding concurrent EASA Part 147 and UAE GCAA CAR 147 approvals, covering both initial and continuation training for licensed aircraft maintenance engineers and technicians.

The core offering is aircraft-type training (B1 and B2 categories under Part 66) on the types that populate GCC and regional fleets: Airbus A318/A319/A320/A321 with CFM56 and IAE V2500 engines, A330 with Rolls-Royce Trent 700, and Boeing 777 with GE90 and Rolls-Royce Trent 800. Courses run in state-of-the-art classrooms supported by direct access to live aircraft on the adjacent maintenance lines — a significant advantage over classroom-only training organisations, since students can observe and relate theory to the actual systems on the specific variant they are being trained on.

Beyond type training, the catalogue includes regulatory modules: Human Factors (initial and continuation), EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection System), Fuel Tank Safety, and Continuing Airworthiness Management. The facility has been established in collaboration with Airbus under a formal Technical Competency Training arrangement.

For procurement teams at airlines, MROs, and national aviation authorities in the GCC and wider Middle East, the practical appeal is dual-regulatory recognition: engineers trained here satisfy both EASA and GCAA licensing requirements in one course, removing the cost and logistics of separate approvals.
