The Surveyor is Exensor's vehicle identification sensor for the Flexnet UGS system, providing extended classification and identification of vehicles through advanced fusion of seismic, acoustic and magnetic sensor data. Where the Mini Mk3 detects and classifies, the Surveyor goes further: it classifies vehicles as light, medium or heavy and tracked or wheeled, and can identify them against pre-recorded signatures, reporting type, speed and direction with advanced false-alarm filtering. It is primarily used for surveillance of Main Supply Routes (MSRs), tracks and minor roads. The system comprises a main unit with integrated battery, GPS and Flexnet mesh radio, plus two sensor probes that collect the data for on-node analysis. The main unit measures 75 x 120 x 55 mm and weighs 0.9 kg; each probe is 137 x 47 x 38 mm and 0.4 kg, with the external probe and cable set weighing 1.4 kg - light enough for one operator to hand-emplace covertly. The rechargeable battery gives 5 days of endurance, with an external battery connectable for longer missions. GPS self-location places the sensor automatically on the C2 map and anti-tampering/lift protection guards the emplacement. Qualified to MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461, it operates from -32 to +71 degrees C. Applications include route and border-road monitoring, critical-infrastructure approach surveillance and reconnaissance screening of vehicle movements.
